# Visual BOM — Photo shotlist

A Visual BOM is the BOM laid out as a hero-style photograph: every part for one cajón arranged on a flat surface against a clean backdrop, labeled with quantities. This document briefs the shoot.

## Hero shot — per variant (4 total: V1, V2, V3, V4)

Frame: top-down, 4:5 portrait orientation, shop-tabletop or seamless butcher-paper backdrop.

For each variant, lay out a single Standard (CJ-S) cajón's parts in a grid, lit with one diffused softbox at 45° camera-left. Suggested arrangement:

Caption each frame with variant name (V1 finger / V2 dovetail / V3 rabbet / V4 miter+spline) and final BOM cost (pulled from `bom.csv`).

## Detail shots — shared across variants

1. **Tapa screw pattern** — close-up of one corner showing the brass screw spacing and the 4–5″ unscrewed slap-zone margin. Side-lit to show the screw heads as small reflective dots.
2. **Finger joint corner** (V1) — extreme close-up of one corner showing the contrasting maple/walnut alternation if used.
3. **Dovetail corner** (V2) — same geometry from a 30° offset to show the half-blind hidden pins.
4. **Spline corner** (V4) — square-on shot showing all three contrasting maple splines on one mitered corner.
5. **Sound hole** — straight-on shot of the back, showing the rosette inlay if present.
6. **Snare mount block** (option B) — interior shot through the sound hole, lit with a small LED, showing the angled block and 3-string snare engagement.
7. **CNC inlay** — extreme close-up of the inlay edge showing the press-fit transition between walnut pocket and maple insert.

## Family group shot

After all three drums are finished (one variant chosen as the "demo family"), one final group shot:
- Compact, Standard, Bass in a row, tapa faces forward, 3:2 landscape orientation.
- Backdrop: dark-gray seamless or wood floor.
- Lighting: two softboxes at 45° each side, slightly above eye level.
- Caption: "Heifer Zephyr Cajón Family — Compact / Standard / Bass"

This becomes the hero on the build-log site (`site/index.html`) and the cover of the print packet.
