# Visual BOM Brief

## Goal

Create a one-page visual BOM plate that helps a builder understand the kora-inspired prototype at a glance without implying that placeholder imagery is traditional or source-authoritative.

## Layout

- Header: `Kora-Inspired 21-String Prototype - Visual BOM`
- Large whole-instrument diagram from `drawings/kora-overview.svg`
- Exploded callouts for bowl, head, neck/spine, bridge, strings, hand posts, tail anchor, optional piezo
- Table grouped by subsystem: resonator, structure, bridge, strings, electronics, fixtures, finish
- Footer note: `Prototype engineering packet; cultural and safety review required before public release.`

## Image Policy

- Use actual shop photos once available.
- Use generated or schematic images only when labeled `concept placeholder`.
- Do not use photos of specific traditional makers' instruments as build references unless permission and attribution are clear.
- Do not present the segmented wooden bowl as a traditional calabash.

## Required Replacement Photos

- hardwood stock and ring segments
- dry-fit ring stack
- head material sample
- neck/spine proof-load setup
- bridge foot test
- partial low-tension stringing
- final private prototype, if built
