This explorer is the studio-facing index for the sheng free-reed mouth-organ packet. It brings the current design narrative, BOM, branch-specific family specs, validation gates, Wolfram source starter, print packet, and provenance notes into one review surface.

Packet status

The repo remains an L2 V5 build-packet candidate. It preserves two explicit architecture variants and keeps fabrication authority blocked until measured reed-coupon evidence, single-pipe control evidence, and reviewed DXF/CAD/design-table artifacts exist for the selected branch.

Round 30 free-reed guard

Both family specs now expose acoustic_law, end_condition, reed_source_role, and unknown_requires_measurement directly in the table. The traditional branch keeps the side-branch free reed as a pipe-coupling source; the compact branch keeps the free reed as the closed-end boundary. Both remain measurement-required until P0/P1 evidence exists.
